Roseau – Dominica High Court has now ruled against the immediate removal of Mehul Choksi from Dominica. While authorities in Dominica are busy trying to get the Indian fugitive, Mehul Choksi deported from Dominica attorneys, Wayne Nord Julian Provost, and Wayne Benjamin Marsh were filing an application in court to prevent it and they were successful.
As the High Court Judge, Justice Bernie Stevenson ruled that Choksi cannot be immediately removed from Dominica and that he should be granted full access to attorneys. His attorneys now filed a writ of habeas corpus, a method used to bring prisoners or other detainees before the courts to determine if the person’s imprisonment or detention is lawful.
Now, that’s the update that we’re tracking for you right now habeas corpus filed to ensure that the prisoner that is Mehul Choksi is of course, or, or a detainee is, of course, you know, of good health and is available.
