According to the Emkay group’s official website, Tan Sri Mustapha Kamal began doing a job of a civil servant serving in the district offices in Selangor. He then became a General Manager of Shah Alam Properties Sdn Bhd (now SAP Holdings Berhad) from where he developed his building and construction skills. Working as General Manager he managed the development of 300-acre land in which there were houses, a golf course, commercial buildings, and other things.
His hard work promoted him to MD of the Shah Alam Properties Sdn Bhd. Later he became a Special Officer to then Selangor Chief Minister, YAB Dato’ Haji Hormat Rafei working at Shah Alam Properties.
Then years after it he left his career as an employee and became an employer founding Emkay Group in 1983. After founding Emkay Groop he developed some major projects in Malaysia.
Emkay Group worked for State’s first privatized development project in 1994. Group also developed Taman Bunga Raya (Bukit Beruntung) and Damansara Damai (Sungai Buloh) projects under the Selangor State Government authorization.
Apart from this, there are many uncountable projects that were handled by Emkay Group including resorts, roads, golf courses, and other places developments.
Tan Sri’s company later got listed with Kuala Lumpur Stock Exchange on August 27, 1999. It got listed at that time with a paid capital of RM1.2bill.
