She came into the limelight when she appeared on the stage with Uddhav Thackerey on the occasion of the 2022 Dussehra rally.

Before joining Politics Sushma Andhare did many respectable jobs following her professional career. She became a professor of Political Science after completing her M.A degree. Stepping further she held the post of Deputy Director in Samata Social Justice Department at Yashda Training Institute in 2006 based on her degree in LLB.
Then her experience and interest in poetry provided her the chance to work as editor of the Pune edition of Dainik Loknayak newspaper. She even use to publish her column based on the Ambedkarite movement.
She is now been honored as the Regional General Secretary of Nomadic Tribes Association in India. As an activist, she participated in different movies. She was a part of the Bhagya Vimukt movement running a free education tour for nomadic kids.

In 2009 Sushma competed against the BKP candidate from Parli Assembly Constituency as an independent candidate, But she didn’t win at that time.
And on 28th July 2022, she finally joined Uddhav’s, Shiv Sena. She now holds works as deputy leader of Shive Sena.
