Once she shared in her interview that she was getting her certificate in Psychology as a psychology student at the US, Davis when her interest in acting arose. She shared that she began spending time in Gree Room to observe people working for theatre acts.

After watching her presentation her professor pushed her to perform on stage. She then agreed to participate in stage performance and executed her first acting role for the state show “Zora, is My Name!”. Sonya Eddy completed her studies in 1992 by majoring in Theatre and Dance at UC Davis.
