This movie is based on the life story of Balram Singh Mehta (acted by Ishaan Khattar), who was captain but was later promoted to the Brigadier rank because of his bravery in the Indo-Pakistan war of 1971. He was the part of 45th Cavalry tank squadron, who went to the eastern front along with his siblings to fight for the nation. The film ‘Pippa (2022)’ shows how Balram Singh led his troop to victory.
During the war, an amphibious war tank the PT-76 of Russia was used in battle and was named ‘Pippa’ in Punjabi slang.
