Mukesh Agnihotri (born 9 October 1962, Age: 61 years old) is a prominent Indian politician and a senior leader of the Indian National Congress. He is currently serving as a Member of the Himachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly from the Haroli constituency since 2003. He is also the president of the Himachal Pradesh Congress Committee since January 2024.

Career as a Journalist
Agnihotri started his career as a journalist in 1986. He worked as a reporter and editor for various newspapers and magazines, such as Punjab Kesari, Dainik Jagran, Dainik Bhaskar, and Himachal Kesari. He covered various issues related to politics, society, culture, and sports.
He also interviewed many eminent personalities, such as former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi, former President A.P.J. Entry into Politics
Mukesh entered politics in 2003, when he joined the Indian National Congress. He contested and won the Haroli assembly seat in the 2003 Himachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly election, defeating the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate by a margin of over 10,000 votes.
He was appointed as the Chief Parliamentary Secretary in the Virbhadra Singh-led Congress government. Wife & Kids
Mukesh married Simmi Agnihotri, a teacher, on 8 April 1992. They had a daughter, Aastha Agnihotri, who is currently pursuing her studies. Simmi Agnihotri died in February 2024, due to a heart attack. Mukesh is a devout Hindu and follows the teachings of Swami Vivekananda and Mahatma Gandhi.
