After completing his education, Kirori Singh Bainsla started working as a teacher. As his father was in the Indian Army, so he got influenced by his dad. He decided to join the army and began working for the same. After a lot of hard work, he got selected as a soldier. He did a lot of hard work and got promoted from soldier to Colonel rank.
He fought in various wars a well like the Sino-Indian war in 1962 and Indo-Pakistani War in 1965. After getting retired from the army, he came back to his hometown.
