Gabriel Attal (born 16 March 1989, Age: 34 years old ) is a French politician who has been serving as the Prime Minister of France since 9 January 2024. He is the youngest person and the first openly gay person to hold this position in the history of France. He is also the ninth openly LGBT person and the youngest person at present to serve as a head of state or government in the world.
A member of the Renaissance party, Attal has rapidly risen to the political ranks since his election to the National Assembly in 2017. Political Career
Attal began his political career as an intern at the French National Assembly, where he worked on the 2012 presidential campaign of François Hollande. He then became an adviser to the Minister of Health, Marisol Touraine, who was the mother of one of his classmates. He was elected as a councilor of Vanves, a commune in the suburbs of Paris, in 2014.
