On March 09, 2022, the local activist from Evanston has disappeared and family and friends are pleading for help. The family said they haven’t spoken to Elise Malary within a week from today. The last time they spoke to Elise was a week from today.
Who was Elise Malary?
She’s a 31-year-old black woman in the LGBTQ community. The last time family had contact with Elise was back on March 9. According to block club Chicago, Elise is a known activist in the LGBTQ community who quit her job at the Civil Rights Bureau of the Illinois Attorney General’s office the day before she went missing and detectives told her sister that they visited Elise’s apartment and found the front end back doors unlocked.
The family describes her as an advocate for the transgender community. So far Evanston Police have not determined any foul play in this situation.

Elise Malary Found Dead
The signs calling for Elise Malary’s safe return are still posted around town despite a tragic end to a day’s long search. This comes after a woman’s body was found on these rocks on the lakefront near Garden Park in Evanston.

Then, days later on Saturday, the unthinkable was confirmed by Evanston police. The body was Malary. Seven days ago, her friends and family hoped to find her alive after she went missing on March 11, 2022, two days after texting with her sister.
Her car was found on Tuesday in a parking lot on the theme street she lived on. At that time detective said her apartment had been left unlocked, but police say they found no evidence in her home or a car that would indicate any foul play.
