BJP MLAs Skip Mamata Banerjee’s Oath As Bengal CM Against Post Result Violence

Kolkata, May 5, 2021 – Let’s get you all the big political updates coming in from Bengal where Mamata Banerjee took Oath a few hours back as the chief minister of Bengal for the third time. After, of course, spearheading the Trinamool Congress to the spectacular victory in West Bengal. Mamata said that our priority right now is to tackle the COVID-19 situation and the pandemic in the state. She also spoke about the Post poll violence that’s broken out in Bengal. She exchanged barbs with the governor Jagdeep Dhankhar.

Mamata said that for the last three months the state was under the Election Commission, and she didn’t have much say on what’s happening, but she assured that from now on violence will be dealt with firmly. The chief minister also said that she will now set up a new police system. Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar Meanwhile urged Mamata to ensure that there is an end that’s brought to all the violence that’s played out. BJP had boycotted the Mamata oath ceremony citing exactly the rampant violence that’s broken out in the state.

Mamata Banerjee Takes Oath As Bengal CM BJP MLAs Skip Swearing-In Ceremony

The BJP decided to go ahead and skip the oath-taking ceremony of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. This over the postponed violence that’s been reported in the state. BJP is also in fact holding a nationwide Dharna over this. BJP MLA took oath at the party office simultaneously with Mamata’s swearing-in ceremony at the Raj Bhavan today. BJP chief J. P. Nadda was also present for the ceremony.

He said that they’ve taken an oath to stop the politics of violence in Bengal, and they will ensure the democracy is protected. Nadda also was seen meeting with the kin of the BJP workers who were allegedly killed in the violence that broke out after the elections. Now the saffron party is holding a nationwide protest claiming that six of their workers were killed in Bengal, while several others including Suvendu Adhikari was assaulted were attacked by TMC goons. BJP also alleged the TMC men burnt down the office in our embark on results day.
