Center Govt Loses Case In Supreme Court, Karnataka will get 1200 Metric Ton Oxygen

Bengaluru, May 7, 2021 – Center Government loses case oversupplying more oxygen to Karnataka. Center had yesterday moved to Supreme Court against Karnataka high court order, which direct center to immediately increase the cap on allocation of liquid medical oxygen to the state of Karnataka to 1200 metric tons per day.
Supreme Court today rejected the petition filed by the central government challenging the direction issued by the Karnataka High Court to increase the daily quota of liquid oxygen for the state of Karnataka to 1200 metric tons. Supreme Court theory says that we will not leave the citizen of Karnataka in the loss. And observing that the High Court has correctly examined the demands, the bench said that it will not interfere with the High Court’s direction.
Solicitor General Tushar Mehta said that the objection was to High Court interfering with the central oxygen allocation plan in a time of crisis. Solicitor General Tushar Mehta who appeared for the Union of India, further argued that every state needed it that is oxygen but my concern is only with the High Court directing it. If every High Court starts doing it, it could be a problem. The center was willing to sit together with no official of Karnataka to resolve the issue.

But Supreme Court refuses to accept the submission made by Solicitor General Tushar Mehta. Supreme Court theory said you have to comply with the order by the Karnataka High Court that it means the central government has to provide 1200 metric ton of oxygen per day to Karnataka.
It’s a setback to the central government. But it’s a big relief to the people of Karnataka who are suffering from COVID-19 because now the central government has to provide 1200 metric tons of oxygen per day.
