Pfizer Offers 5 Crores Doses To India Between July to October Next Year

New York – We are of course tracking the Pfizer for you and the availability of Pfizer, in India. Seeking a fast-track approval for its COVID-19 vaccine, US major Pfizer has told Indian authorities that a jab has shown high effectiveness against the SARS-CoV-2 variant prevalent in India and on people of Indian ethnicity or nationality.

Now, while it is suitable for everyone aged 12 years or above and can be stored for a month or 2 to 8 degrees, it is still yet unclear by when Pfizer will be available in India.

Now, Pfizer is ready to offer five crore doses to India between July and October of next year and has thought a certain relaxation, including indemnification, as well as a series of interactions with the Indian authorities. Recently including one this week. Now, during this interaction is shared the most decent data points regarding the efficacy of children and approvals for its vaccine in various countries and by the World Health Organization.

Pfizer at this point is seeking fast-track approval for its COVID-19 vaccine. And it is yet to be seen, however, whether or not Pfizer is going to be available in India.

And I must say that any help from any vaccine manufacturers around the globe is very welcome and happy news for us because it will surely add to our bouquet of vaccines which are available to us. We have high demand, everybody knows it because of the large population.

So if Pfizer is committing to provide us with around 5 crore doses up to September and maybe more afterward, so naturally, it will also augment our existing supply of vaccines, but naturally, our demand is our need is much much more than what they can provide, but anything is welcome in these difficult times and Pfizer more so because it is a tested vaccine.

It has been given to almost 40%-50% of the US population. It has been used in the UK, it has been used in UAE and other Gulf countries and also European countries. So it’s a credible vaccine, like our vaccines with Covaxin and COVID shield, but rather its efficacy is a little bit on the higher side. Also, they are now they have tweaked this vaccine, which will likely work against mutant viruses also.

Although it was not the case a little while ago, I think they have now done it. So, we must welcome this step, and the only thing I must say that nations pride and certain things must not be compromised to allow the vaccine it should be done with the existing rules and regulations and whatever can be accepted within the framework of the country sovereignty that should not be compromised in the process of getting the five crore doses.

So anything and everything is welcome provided it does not swallow our too much pride into it. So because of what we have known about Pfizer, they have arm-twisted many countries like Argentina and others and ask them to pledge their assets and all that. So, I think that is something that is not fair. So if Pfizer, we are buying it it is not a charity they are doing it will be bought and its good thing what they have said that it will not require the cold chain minus -70 or -80 degrees for a month.

It can be stored at two to eight degrees centigrade. So I think that is very welcome and We must accept and bring it and do not fall into doing a bridging trial or something because enough trials have been done, the vaccine is underuse, it has been you used in huge numbers in USA, UK, and Europe and other countries.

So, its efficacy and safety record track record are very well established. So, like any other drug, it has to be formally approved by our licensing agency looking at the data which they have presented. So, I think we should do it on a fast track, we should not take too much time to allow the import of these vaccines, and they can be made available privately if the cost is higher, and our vaccines can be given to the population at large at a low cost.

So, I think the people will have the option anybody who can afford can get the Pfizer vaccine or modern a vaccine or any other vaccine and there is a price attached to even a Sputnik vaccine. So I and there is a price attached to our vaccines also. So now, the choice has to be left to people whichever vaccine they want.
