How to Apply for R350 Grant 2021 Online (Application Form, Process, Benefits & Eligibility):- South African current president Cyril Ramaphosa and his government have decided to introduce a covid-19 recovery package in the form of Social relief of disaster grant(SRD) of R350 monthly (currently for 6 months, but can be extended) which will be credited to the accounts of individual who must be a citizen of South Africa and are currently unemployed and also are not taking any other government relief fund of any kind simultaneously. This scheme have been started on 6th August 2021.
What is R350 Grant 2021?
Constitution validation: This Social Relief of Distress Scheme is also confirmed in the Regulations made under Section 27(2) of the Disaster Management Act, of 2002 (The year 2002 Section No. 57): Measures to prevent and combat the spread of COVID-19 was the latest amendment to this article.
What will you get in this government scheme?
In the Social Relief package for Distress, individuals will get support in the form of a food parcel or a voucher with which someone can buy food. This benefit would be given for a short time currently – usually for a period of three months, but it may be extended for a period of another three months.
All the Beneficiaries can have access to their payments credited and can avail the benefit by going to a supermarket and carry their ID numbers and a message they received from the SASSA department with the confirmation of collection details.
What is the Pre-requisites information required by a candidate?
They must possess Government Identity Number. (In case of refugee, Department of Home Affairs (Internal) refugee permit number)
- Candidate’s first name and last name as mentioned in the government Identity.

How long would it take to fill the application?
Immediately, Once the candidate has filled the form after giving their consent and signing the declaration, then the government department SASSA would validate and share your candidature with other government departments and the financial institute of the country such as SARS and Banks.
During the process, the applicant would be given the option where they have to agree and disagree with the details asked. Once this application is filled successfully then you will also have to provide your basic bank details to get the benefit directly into your bank accounts and if not, then you can avail for cash as well.

How can I change or alter my Bank Details?
If you are a potential approved beneficiary of the scheme (SASSA SRD 350) and by mistake, you have filled wrong details of your Bank Account or Wanted to change the Bank account provided during the online application process, then you only have to submit your unique ID number on the below link (screenshot attached for your reference).

Once you click on “SUBMIT”, you will receive an SMS along with a secure link, unique for everyone on your registered mobile number during the application process.
Next, you have to click on the link and follow the instruction sequentially.
[ Note: The new Bank Account number you wish to update, must have your name as the account holder, otherwise SASSA would not be able to proceed with your payment Grant.]
Also, the payment onto the new Bank Account would initiate after the verification by SASSA, till then it would be provided on the initial Bank Account only.

Can I Change My Name and Surname in R350 social relief grant 2021 Online?
Yes, Candidates whose applications were rejected initially due to incorrect name or surname information provided, can now re-correct their details and request SASSA to update their information in their Databases. Here We will tell you the process of Updating the personal details.
- Applicants have to enter their ID number, Names, and Surname exactly the same on the South African Green Smart ID cards.
- Applicant’s name and surname would be updated only in their details matches with the details stored in the Databased of Department of Home Affairs, otherwise, it wouldn’t be considered for further processing.

If I want to select a SAPO (Post Office) branch to collect payment?
Yes, it is possible to collect the relief fund from the nearest post office as well. For people who don’t have a bank account of having a problem with online transaction, those can avail this option of payment.
- You have to select the SAPO branch as per your convince by clicking the button “Click here to update your preferred Sapo branch”.
- Follow the instruction to schedule your payment credits as early as possible.
