Storyline of Power Book III: Raising Kanan
Power Book III: Raising Kanan is a spin-off of the hit series Power, which ran for six seasons from 2014 to 2020. The show tells the origin story of Kanan Stark, played by Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson in the original series and Mekai Curtis in the prequel.
Kanan is the son of Raq Thomas, played by Patina Miller, a powerful drug queenpin who runs the streets of South Jamaica, Queens, in the early 1990s. What happened at the end of Episode 3?
The third episode of the season, titled “In Sheep’s Clothing”, saw Kanan getting more involved in the drug game, as he teamed up with his friend Scrappy, played by Lovie Simone, to sell Raq’s product in Unique’s territory. Jukebox also stole some jewelry from a store and was caught by a security guard, who tried to sexually assault her. Jukebox managed to escape, but not before stabbing the guard in the neck. Howard confronted Raq about Kanan’s paternity and told her that he needed a bone marrow transplant from Kanan to live. Raq denied Howard’s claim and told him to stay away from her and her son.
