Plot
Monsieur Spade follows the adventures of Sam Spade, a retired private detective who lives in Bozouls, a small town in the south of France, in 1963. Sam is bored with his quiet life and misses his days of solving mysteries and fighting crime in San Francisco. He decides to take on some cases as a hobby but soon finds himself in over his head as he uncovers a web of secrets, lies, and murder involving his friends, enemies, and family.
In season 1, Sam dealt with a series of cases that ranged from a missing person, a stolen painting, a blackmail scheme, a kidnapping, a drug deal, and a murder. Along the way, he also reconnected with his ex-wife Cynthia, who visited him from New York and met a mysterious man who claimed to be his long-lost son. He also faced a deadly threat from Gazala, the wife of his friend Henri, who turned out to be the sister of a notorious crime boss who wanted Sam dead.
