This movie shows that Lovely Balwant Singh (played by Salman Khan) got appointed as the bodyguard of Divya Rana (acted by Kareena Kapoor). Lovely’s mother was saved by Divya’s father named Sartaj Rana many years ago. So, Lovely was just paying back the favor by becoming the bodyguard of Divya to save her from militant political adversaries. Divya got fed up with the strict protection of Lovely and wanted some freedom. For this, she created a girl named Chhaya, who claims to love Lovely.

He also grows closer to that mystery girl which gave some freedom to Divya as well. Divya went to the nightclub where she was attacked but later saved by Lovely. Afterward, she fell in love with Lovely for his bravery and kindness. Later, Divya calls him Chhaya and asked him to elope with her.
