Jos Buttler Maiden Hundred Helps Rajasthan Royals 55-run Win Over Sunrisers Hyderabad
Arun Jaitley Stadium, Delhi, May 3, 2021 – Jos Buttler smashed the highest score of the season on his way to a century as Rajasthan Royals handed a 55-run, mauling to Sunrisers Hyderabad. Now Buttler 124 leads Rajasthan to 220 for 3 wickets after they were sent in to bat first.
It turned out to be a one-man show as far as Rajasthan Royals were concerned with Jos Buttler making life miserable for Hyderabad bowlers. Sanju Samson helped on the other end, but he was not missing out on boundaries. But, Buttler was unstoppable on the day and despite a reasonably sluggish start the English opener, move and just made up and slam the 3rd century of the season.
Buttler took 39 balls to raise his 50 but it took him just 17 more deliveries to score another 50 rounds and is 124 two crawls to 224/3. Sunrisers Hyderabad had a decent start, but when they did start losing wickets, their run chase also fizzled out. A lot depended on Jonny Bairstow and his dismissal pushed Hyderabad further back.
None of the batsmen, including newly appointed Captain Kane Williamson could challenge the Rajasthan bowling with Mustafizur Rahman making most of the damage. Eventually, Sunrisers Hyderabad could manage just 165/8, losing the contest by a whopping 55 runs to hand Rajasthan that third win of the season.
