Dave Myers Obituary, Cause Of Death: What Happened to ‘Hairy Bikers’ Star? How Did He Die?

Dave Myers, the beloved TV chef and one-half of the Hairy Bikers duo, passed away peacefully at his home on February 28, 2024, at the age of 66. He had been battling cancer for two years, which he revealed to the public in May 2022, during an episode of Agony Uncles hosted by himself and his co-star Si King.

Myers was a renowned figure in the culinary world, known for his passion for food, motorcycles, and people. He and King formed a dynamic partnership that spanned over three decades, starting from their humble beginnings in the film industry to becoming the faces of popular TV cooking and travel shows.

A Life Full of Adventure and Flavor

Myers was born on September 8, 1957, in Barrow-in-Furness, Cumbria. He grew up in a working-class family, with his father working as a fitter at a nuclear power plant and his mother as a cake decorator. He developed an interest in cooking from a young age, learning from his mother and grandmother. He also had a love for motorcycles, which he inherited from his father.

He studied fine art at Goldsmiths, University of London, and then worked as a makeup artist for several years, specializing in prosthetics. He met King in 1995, when they were both working behind the scenes on a TV drama. They discovered their shared passion for food and bikes, and decided to embark on a culinary adventure together.
