She graduated in 2018 as the salutatorian of her class.
Johnson continued her education at Stephen F. Austin State University, where she majored in music education. She was a member of the SFA Choral/Voice Area, where she honed her skills as a vocalist and a conductor. She graduated in 2022 with honors and a bachelor’s degree in music education.
McKenna then returned to her alma mater, Prosper High School, as an assistant choir director. She was responsible for teaching and directing several choirs, including the mixed choir, the women’s choir, and the show choir. She also helped organize and prepare the students for various competitions, festivals, and concerts. She was admired by her students for her enthusiasm, dedication, and kindness. She was also respected by her fellow teachers and administrators for her professionalism, creativity, and leadership.
